The standard system is equipped with a 3CCD color camera and a 20cm (8") square XY-stage. The max (Z)-height of the sample is 25 cm. Darkfield illumination and a macroscopic zoom lens (magnification 0.75x - 4x) allow for imaging of sample details ranging in size from microns (µm) to millimeters (mm).
Customization of the hardware is possible (stage, camera, illumination). For automated solutions, customized sample holders can be made that grid wise stack the samples on predefined positions. Customized and pipelined image analysis modules can be developed to turn the Arguscope into a complete imaging platform that perfectly fits your needs.
Autofocus and mosaicing
The automated Z-focus ('autofocus') assures unparalleled image quality for tilted objects or objects with varying height. Even when the surface within one image is too rough to be totally in-focus, our 'extended focus' algorithm assembles the correct image from the image Z-stack. XY-stitching of individual image fields into mosaics enables imaging of large areas while maintaining the high resolution details that you are interested in.
The Arguscope is engineered to meet the stringent requirements set in divers application areas. In the field of drug development R&D for example, the Arguscope can assist in toxicology high-content and high-throughput screening. It may also be used in material sciences for inspection and QA purposes.
